Vintage Hercules Gun Powder Crate Face

Hercules Powder Manufacturing specialized in gunpowder manufacturing from 1882 to 1995. Its operations in California were located along the northeast shore of San Francisco Bay. The surrounding company town that emerged was eventually named "Hercules" and later incorporated as Hercules, California, in 1900.

By the 1960s from which, the crate end is believed to have been built. Hercules Powder Company had changed its name to Hercules, Inc. The crate might have housed Reloder 7, the most popular of the three cylindrical rifle powders introduced in 1965.

Measurements: The crate end measures 13 1/4 inches wide, 10 1/2 inches tall, and 1/2 inches thick.

Condition: The crate end is in good condition. Color inconsistencies, dings, and nail holes. The wood has been cleaned, polished, and waxed to bring out the rich wood tones.
